Petr Sláma, who teaches Old Testament Studies at the Faculty, has won the Annual Prize of the Vyšehrad publishing house for 2010 for his book "Tanu Rabanan – An Anthology of Rabbinic Literature". The publication contains an introductory study of the world of Rabbinic literature in the formative period from the 2nd to the 7th centuries A.D., followed by translations by the author of selected texts in this genre from Hebrew and Aramaic.

Another recent major work by a teacher from the Faculty is "The Political Thought of the European Reformation" by Martin Wernisch. It examines in detail the relationship between Reformation theology and political thought in the circles surrounding leading Reformation figures such as Luther, Zwingli and Calvin.

Unfortunately both works are so far only available in Czech – perhaps a good reason for learning the language?
